Now Accepting Applications for STEM Teaching Tool Grants!
The AFCEA Augusta-Fort Gordon Chapter seeks to promote effective science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) teaching and to enhance the abilities of our STEM teachers within Aiken, Burke, Columbia, Lincoln and Richmond counties. Grants up to $750.00 are available for teachers to purchase materials for experiments and activities in the classroom. The Chapter has a long history of awarding grants to our local teachers in support of computer science, mathematics, technology, engineering and physical science laboratory efforts and class activities.
Criteria:
Applicants are teachers in the Aiken, Burke, Columbia, Lincoln or Richmond county public or private elementary, middle or high school system. Selections are based on the merit of each teacher's projects and program. Home school teachers may also apply. All recipients will be required to provide a report back on the implementation of their approved project within 60 days of receiving funds.
Notification:
Recipients will be notified in December 2015 and will be recognized by the AFCEA Augusta-Fort Gordon Chapter during a breakfast ceremony we traditionally hold on the third Saturday of January. The names of the award recipients will be provided to local papers, AFCEA's highly acclaimed Signal Magazine, and will be posted on our AFCEA Augusta Fort Gordon Chapter website.
Annual Application period: 6 October- 30 November
